Information
Tell me about the festival.
Named for Grammy winning saxophonist and composer, Med Flory, the festival is a celebration of his artistic contributions and America's original art form, jazz music.
Twelve bands from throughout Indiana and beyond play over the three day period. You'll hear everything from swing, bebop, big band, R&B, funk, blues ragtime, Chicago blues, vocal jazz, and New Orleans style jazz.
Come dressed in your best 1920's outfit! We'll throw back to the days of flapper dresses and wide leg pants! Here's a link to get you started on ideas:

The festival begins on June 4, 2010 with a New Orleans-style parade winding through downtown Logansport and ending on the festival grounds around 5:45 pm to start the weekend. Long time music educator Al Rodriguez will be honored as the parade's Grand Marshall. Parade marchers get $5 off a session ticket and $10 off a weekend ticket!
There's so much to say about the bands you'll see! Be sure to check out the artists page often as new information is being added all the time!
Teri Partridge donates her time and talent! Some lucky person will be the winner of an original Teri Partridge painting created at the event and raffled off Saturday night! Tickets sold through 8 PM Saturday night.

Why is it called the "Med Flory Jazz and Blues Festival"?
Med Flory is a Logansport native who has helped put our town on the musical radar. We want to honor his legacy and thank him for what he has done for the city of Logansport. Jazz is an important part of our heritage, and it's important to celebrate this heritage and pass it on to our children.
